Hardwood over laminate
Question: We are buying a house with professionally installed laminate. I like the look and feel of real hardwood. Can we go right over the laminate, or do we need to pull it all up. Thanks, Tonya
Jake's Answer: Tonya, that is a definite no. Laminate is a floating floor with a soft underside. I would be very concerned about the hardwood "floating" and you do not want that with hardwood. Remove the laminate prior to installing the hardwood.
