Matching floors

Hello Jake, We are having a new home built and in the foyer, and powder room of the 1st floor, we have hardwood flooring. The kitchen comes standard with Durastone flooring, and it costs $1700 to upgrade to hardwood to match the foyer/powder room. We like the look of the durastone, but wondering is it better to have the kitchen flooring match whats in the foyer and to go with the hardwood?

I think that Durastone is a neat product that can work very well in a kitchen.  As I have stated in previous blogs, I really like the look of hardwood flooring.  I like the way it works in kitchens and I like to look through a house and see the same flooring material used throught out.  You should have some flooring accents like area rugs and maybe some tile accents.  I vote for the hardwood.
