Carpet over linoleum

Can you lay down carpet over a linoleum floor?

Yes, you usually can install carpeting over linoleum flooring or other types of sheet flooring.  If it is a glue down type of carpet, make certain that the linoleum is securely attached to the floor and there are no voids in the linoleum or these might telegraph through the carpet.  Even if you are going to use a pad and stretch the carpet, it is still is a good idea to make sure the linoleum is securely fastened.  Good luck and good remodeling.  Jake
