Color question

Dear Jake

We have two rooms, one a living room and the other a sitting room with a fireplace, they both have carpet. Now we wanted to put in the pergo floor. we have a family room addition off the living room that has the hardwood floor it has three stairs going into the room. the kitchen has the dark pergo wide plank. we wanted to put the pergo in the living room and sitting room. the family room has a natural color that has darken over the ten years since we put the addition on. What floor do we match. do we go with the kitchen or the family room. the kitchen the living room and sitting room is an open plan. i hope you understand my question.

We get a lot of flooring questions, but I don't think I ever got a color question.  Color questions are tough, since I don't have a complete picture of your living area.  But here goes:  I would match the existing Pergo floor, since it will be easier to match and the hardwood is a few steps down.  You will have to be certain that the Pergo floor is not too dark for the room.  I hope this helps.
