How to select a remodeling company

I have called remodeling contractors to come by and take a look at a remodeling project i am considereing.  Why do so few of you people return my calls.

Ali,

It is hard to answer your question because I hope my company in never guilty of such an act.  Unfortunately I hear this comment quite frequently.  Why do so few return your calls?  It boils down to the fact that quite a few remodeling guys are really more craftsman than business people.  They have a difficult time managing their time and as a result never have enough of it.  I belive their intentions are right, they just have a hard time keeping all the balls in the air.  I recommend you be very careful about doing business with people like this.  If they can't return a call at the front end, think of what it will be like once your project is underway or you need them for some warranty work.
